That’s about it, it feels like a lot

Apologies for the major lack of posting in the past couple weeks.  I realize now that it has been since I started working at McCormick that I really have not made the time to post anything.  Starting working full time again has been more of a change than I had anticipated.  Its been a good change.

I like my job so far, though we are still figuring out just what it is that I am doing.  For those who may not know, begining in October I am the new Assistant Director of Communications at McCormick.  I just ordered business cards.

It seems that I am the last new full time hire that they are going to make for a while with the economy tanking.  The school is in a good position considering the industry but like many similar institutions it is partially dependent upon endowment income to keep working.    Julie and I were just talking the other day how ironic it is that I have spent all that time out of work while the economy was booming (inflating) and now I get a job right as it begins to deflate.  I will call that Providence.

A lot has happened.  We will have a black president in 65 days and counting.  Julie and I have moved again (long and dumb story, beware who you rent from).  That is about it, it feels like a lot.

Friends are coming in anothe week or so for the second annual friends’ thanksgiving.  hopefully it will be just as stressful and tasty as last year.
